I have found your blog through searching for certain poems from O. Mandelstam… though I am surprised by not finding any translations for Welimir Khlebnikov. Surprised by this fact, I’m trying to guess the reasons…
Thanks and greetings

Thank you for your interest. Too many poets, not enough time…

Hi Rupert! I found out that you have done two translations of Yesenin’s ‘New Snow’ / ‘Fresh Snow’, dated 2016 and 2018 respectively. Any particular reason behind this? I am in the process of translating this and a few Yesenin’s other poems into Finnish. Your translations of Yesenin’s poems have been truly helpful. Best, Ari-Veikko

I’m afraid the answer is that I had simply forgotten that I had already translated the poem – a not uncommon phenomenon! I’m glad you’ve found my translations helpful – I’d be very interested in seeing your Finnish translations.

I hope so much you’ll finish it because your translation is the best one (I’ve read all the translations I could find in the Internet).
